If you don't feel this in your core you have no idea what it's like to battle with depression
Statistics say that,
"An estimated 21.0 million adults in the United States had at least one major depressive episode." That's just in the UNITED STATES! Imagine throughout the entire 🌎!
It is said that,
"Approximately 280 million people in the world have depression." 🤯💔
Do you know what depression actually means? Depression is often confused, overlooked, often undiagnosed and untreated!
A simple definition of depression -
Depression is an illness characterized by persistent sadness and a loss of interest in activities that you normally enjoy, accompanied by an inability to carry out daily activities, for at least two weeks. There isn't a specific reason or CAUSE of depression. We are not sad bc of something. Noone can say or do anything to change the state of depression. It is a chemical imbalance in the 🧠. Thus, the chemical imbalance theory -The chemical imbalance theory suggests that depression results from changing levels of neurotransmitters in the brain. Untreated depression can lead down a long path of self destruction, behavioral issues, more mental health problems, symptoms of physical health issues due to the depression, substance abuse, self harm and even suicide. Depression is real. It's real and it's painful and it's a constant battle with yourself every single second of every single day.
